The Grizzly Conundrum

Really, Randy? Yellowstone National Park killed enough grizzlies to lead to the need for them to be put on the Endangered list? Yes. Read Playing God in Yellowstone Park by Alston Chase, available on Amazon and from other book sellers.
Though the # of our grizzlies that are growing all of the time, there is also a # of the grizzlies killed each year by USFWS, State Game departments, and accidents, the conundrum of “when to delist” will not be reached by game management practices, but through the courts or legislation.
There is also the conundrum of “do as I say, not as I do” mentality of FWS and Game departments.
In the meantime, the grizzlies are expanding their range all of the time, because of the sheer number of them. It is not, as some claim, to be a human conflict issue because of “encroaching development” because the size of the National Forests and the size of the National Parks they live in have NOT shrunk, nor do they have “encroaching development”.
In the last “season” from mid-May, through mid-Oct we either saw or saw evidence of 6 grizzlies and 2 black bear, within 100 yards of the house. That is more than the previous 29 years, combined.
