The United States military has illegally invaded and occupied Syrian sovereign territory since 2014, preventing Damascus from accessing its own wealth, their oil and wheat fields. It started under Barack Obama and continued under Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
A top Pentagon official has acknowledged that Washington’s strategy is to starve Syria’s central government of it's wealth, it's revenue it needs to rebuild, after a decade of invasion and occupation, fueled by imperialist U.S. and NATO powers devastated the country.
The U.S. Senate voted 13-84, rejecting a resolution to withdraw U.S. troops. Journalist Ben Norton analyzes the situation.
