The White House is heartily criticizing House Speaker Mike Johnson and Republican lawmakers for leaving town without authorizing additional security aid for Ukraine.

The Supreme Court declined to block an Illinois law that, beginning next year, will ban the sale of semiautomatic assault-style rifles and large-capacity magazines. Illinois's law allows people to keep firearms they already possess but will ban them from obtaining a new assault weapon beginning in the new year.

Meghan McCain, a former host of The View, complained her former co-hosts have "slandered" her since she left the program. McCain wrote, "I don't understand why my former colleagues bring me up and slander me on an almost weekly basis. It has been years — move on, I have." She continued saying she will be consulting lawyers. McCain left the talk show in 2021.
