Over the past three decades, there has been a significant decline in the growth of median household income compared to earlier generations. Surprisingly, certain measurements suggest that our society is even less mobile than several other nations, including Canada, France, Germany, and many Scandinavian countries. These findings challenge the conventional belief of America as the land of opportunity.
