Dramatic moment man escapes out-of-control car while checking mail

A man narrowly dodged being hit by an out-of-control car while checking his mail in Fresno, California, on Tuesday, January 9.

Footage captured by a security camera belonging to Ruben Almaraz shows two cars collide in the intersection of Tulare and Minnewawa, east of the city, as he is outside at his mailbox.

The crash sends one of the vehicles skidding at high-speed toward Almaraz before he jumps out of the way, narrowly avoiding serious injury.

Speaking to Storyful, Almaraz said the incident felt like a “near-death experience” and told local media he witnesses two to three crashes at the intersection per month.
