According to a report in New York Post, two FBI agents interviewed an individual in Minnesot with considerable knowledge of the case in mid-October. The person is said to provided the investigating agency several documents relating to the marriage of Omar and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009.

The two agents are set to share the information with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the US Department of Education. It is not known at this time whether this could potentiall open an investigation into the Muslim lawmaker.

Omar’s complicated personal life has been the subject of continuing media scrutiny since her election to Congress at the 2018 midterm elections. Omar and Hirsi split in 2008, but reunited in 2012, even though Omar was legally married to Elmi until 2017. Under the U.S law, conviction for marriage fraud could result in a $250,000 fine, along with five years in prison.

He is now in custody awaiting a hearing on Monday.

Lazarro's lawyer Zachary Newland could not immediately be reached as he was on a flight. However he confirmed by email that the website was put up by his client.

Omar's spokesman Jeremy Slevin threw shade on the report. 'This is a fraudulent website created by a man charged this week with child sex trafficking and lying to federal investigators to cover it up,' he said in a statement.

Endeavor, which is based in El Paso, Texas did not return a call for comment. The company charges $189 for a siblingship test.

DailyMail.com understands that a shadowy Republican group was planning to release details of a DNA report in the next day or two. It is not known what relationship Lazarro, 30, has to that group.

Its work could have been undermined by Lazarro as it gives Minnesota congresswoman Omar, 38, an opportunity to try to discredit the information as coming from a tainted source.

Lazzaro's website says that the group garnered a DNA sample from Elmi's straw in Leicester, England as part of a two-year investigation. He has recently been living in both Kenya and on the east African island of Zanzibar.

The test result appears to show that some of the DNA matches are exact while others are close. The group behind the surreptitious sleuthing claims this proves the two are siblings.

Claims that Omar and Elmi, 36, are siblings have been rampant for years. The allegation is that they married so Elmi, a British citizen could go to school in the United States. He followed Omar to North Dakota State University.

Lazzaros' website says: 'Rep. Omar was a U.S. Citizen for a decade and her brother/ex-husband Mr. Elmi was a UK Citizen.

'This is purely a crime of convenience, by an individual with extremely poor ethics now representing hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans in Congress. There was absolutely no threat to these individuals causing them to commit multiple felonies while living in the two wealthiest countries in the world seeking reduced tuition at a public University.

Omar, who was first elected to Congress in 2018, has never fully addressed the question of whether she is related to Elmi. While serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives she did issue a press release in which she called the allegations 'absurd and offensive.'

In her memoir, This Is What America Looks Like, published last year, she claims she hardly knew him when they married, saying: 'I had a Britney Spears-style meltdown, I not only eloped with a man — whom I spent so little time with that I wouldn't even make him a footnote in my story if it weren't for the fact that this event turned into the main headline later on — but I shaved my head.

'Yes, like the beleaguered pop star, who shaved her head in 2007, I took clippers to my own head. Too many headaches, too little sleep — I had to flee myself, my relationships, my hair.

'The difference between Britney and me is that I wore a hijab, so nobody knew what I had done — except my children who were very surprised. ''Mommy looks like me,'' Adnan (her young son) declared. And he was right, I did look like a little boy.' She didn't even name Elmi in her memoir.

But others have long claimed that she married him so he could go to school in the United States. She had come to America as a refugee fleeing war in her native Somalia, but he had taken up British nationality.

He followed her to North Dakota State University, after their marriage in 2009. A Christian minister performed the ceremony despite the fact that both are Muslim.

Somali blogger Abdihakim Osman Nur told DailyMail.com in February last year that he had known Omar growing up and suddenly her brother arrived in Minneapolis.

At the time Omar was married to Ahmed Hirsi — who she later remarried. They have since divorced and in March 2020 she married Mynett, her chief fundraiser.

'No one knew there had been a wedding until the media turned up the marriage certificate years later,' Nur said, about the Elmi-Omar marriage.

'People began noticing that Ilhan and Southside were often with a very effeminate young guy,' Osman said, referring to Hirsi by his nickname.

'He was very feminine in the way he dressed — he would wear light lipstick and pink clothes and very, very, short shorts in the summer. People started whispering about him, added Nur, who spoke in Somali through an interpreter.

'Southside and Ilhan both told me it was Ilhan's brother and he had been living in London but he was mixing with what were seen as bad influences that the family did not like,' added Nur.

'So they sent him to Minneapolis as ''rehab''.'

Nur said that Omar kept her marriage to Elmi quiet, with no one from the Somali community invited to the wedding that was held at a county office in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

He explained: 'When Southside and Ilhan got married, a lot of people were invited. It was a big Islamic wedding uniting two large clans in the Minneapolis community.

'I would say there were 100-150 people there.'

But he said: 'When she married Elmi, no one even knew about it.'

Nur said he believed Elmi and Omar sought out someone outside the Somali community to conduct the ceremony because an imam would have known they were related and would have refused to marry them.

The marriage was conducted by Christian minister Wilecia Harris. When DailyMail.com approached her in 2019 she would not discuss the ceremony or why a Muslim couple would have asked her to marry them.

In a Facebook message, Harris's husband Marcus told DailyMail.com: 'My wife doesn't want to be involved or interviewed about Congresswoman Omar.'

'It's not going to happen, not now and not never.'

Lazzaro's arrest could complicate the latest attempts to prove the congresswoman may have broken federal immigration laws.

According to a press release from the Department of Justice in Minnesota, Lazzaro 'conspired with others to recruit and solicit six minor victims to engage in commercial sex acts.'

'The indictment charges Lazzaro with one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors, five counts of sex trafficking of minors, one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor, and three counts of obstruction.'

He is being held in federal custody until a hearing on Monday.

Lazzaro, who has appeared on Fox News and other conservative media outlets has posted pictures of himself posing with former president Donald Trump, former vice-president Mike Pence and other leading Republicans.

According to the Daily Beast, which broke the story of his arrest, the FBI had raided Lazzaro's luxury apartment in the Hotel Ivy Residences in downtown Minneapolis in December last year.

'The indictment accuses Lazzaro of having 'recruited' at least five underage victims for paid sex between May and December last year, and trying to entice a sixth. It also says he 'knowingly and intentionally interfered' with the investigation as it closed in on him,' the Daily Beast reported.

The outlet said law enforcement served the condo building's management company with a search warrant seeking Lazzaro's bank records and video surveillance footage a week before the raid.

At the time, Lazzaro told the Daily Beast: someone had 'made a false allegation against me,' and he said the matter was 'almost resolved.'

A photo has emerged that appears to show Ilhan Omar with both her first and second husbands, after Donald Trump hinted she married her brother.

Trump caused uproar yesterday when he repeated an accusation that the Democrat Congresswoman's second marriage was to her sibling.

The controversial photo first appeared on a Somali forum in 2016 that made the claim that she was in a fraternal marriage. It was taken in London according to the Instagram caption.

The post says: 'He (Omar's second husband) arrived in the United States in 2008. As soon as Ilhan Omar married him he started university at her alma mater North Dakota State University where he graduated in 2012.

'Shortly thereafter he moved to Minneapolis where he was living in a public housing complex and later evicted. He then returned to the United Kingdom where he now lives.'

Today Omar's second husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi posted a picture soaking up the view at sunny Nyali Beach Resort in Mombasa Kenya.

He is at the center of the explosive rumor of bigamy and inter-familial marriage which Omar has called an Islamophobic slur.

'Well there's a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother,' Trump said on the White House lawn. 'I know nothing about it, I hear that she was married to her brother ... I don't know but I'm sure that somebody would be looking at that.'

When she married her second husband, a British national who had just arrived in the U.S., legal documents appear to show she was still living with her first husband.

And the trio all reportedly went off to live together in Fargo while Omar and her second husband were studying at the University of North Dakota.

It also appears that Omar’s father Nur Said Elmi Mohamed has the same name as her second husband’s father. He attended Arlington Senior High School in Minnesota and multiple former classmates say that is also the name of his father.

She has furiously dismissed claims she married her brother as 'baseless, absurd rumors' and accused journalists of Islamophobia.

However, she has remained evasive on the details surrounding her marriages and a campaign email obtained by the Spectator from her spokesman Ben Goldfarb shows his frustration in trying to get her out of a hole.

'Having no [sic] tried to write a statement multiple times that says, "I’m not legally married to two people but I am legally married to one and culturally married to another", I think it’s impossible.' Goldfarb writes.

She says she married Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi in 2002 in a shariah ceremony. No marriage certificate was signed and after having two children they divorced in 2008.

Within a year she had married a British-Somalian, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in a suburban Minnesota registry.

The clinical ceremony - in contrast to her previous shariah wedding - was conducted by a Christian minister Wilecia Harris. This would seem at odds with Omar's proud faith tradition.

However, this appears to be rubbished by legal documents uncovered by the Washington Examiner which show she was still living with her first husband.

Public records show that Omar was living with Hirsi at a home in the Cedar Riverside area of Minneapolis in 2009 - the year she wed her second husband and two years before she says she re-united with Hirsi.

Furthermore, the Spectator report Omar's first husband went to live with the pair in Fargo where she and her new husband were studying at North Dakota State University.

Her second husband moved back to London after they had a shariah divorce in 2011, according to Omar. However, social media posts circulating on Alpha News appear to show that he had remained in Minnesota into late 2012.

That year she had her third child with her first husband and they were re-united in another Islamic wedding.

The explosive claims were blown wide open during a Minnesota Campaign and Public Disclosure Board investigation into her campaign finances which revealed in 2014 and 2015 she filed tax returns with her husband as Hirsi, while she was legally married to Elmi.

She did not legally divorce Elmi until 2017. She legally married Hirsi early in 2018, just one month after divorcing her second husband.

She claims the reason for her belated divorce was because she was unable to get in contact with him after he returned to the UK.

However, social media postings uncovered by the Spectator appear to show she was in contact with her second husband and she had visited London in 2014.

In posts which were screen-grabbed from the Somalian forum where the rumor appears to have started, Omar is seen posing with Elmi in the British capital.

Not only that, but others have claimed that her first husband can also be seen with the group in London.

Elmi rapidly shutdown all of his social media accounts earlier today. Omar was entirely absent from them. 'I'm not legally married to two people, but I am legally married to one and culturally married to another.' Omar supplied this email to the Minnesota Campaign and Public Disclosure Board's investigation into her campaign financing. That investigation concluded on June 6 by ordering Omar to refund $3,500 in misused campaign funds, and to pay a $500 fine. It also revealed that in 2014 and 2015, Omar may have broken federal and state law by filing a joint tax return with her husband Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi — when she was married to another man.

When conservative journalists in Minnesota raised the bigamy allegations in 2016, Omar issued a statement calling the allegations 'baseless, absurd rumors' and issued a statement accusing the journalists of 'Islamophobia'. Her statement was taken verbatim from Goldfarb's email. That same email appears to admit that the allegations are not without basis. Goldfarb describes how he tried to construct a denial based on 'real background information', but found it 'impossible'.

'…we are probably in a position where giving real background information is helpful in tying this up. That said, having no tried to write a statement multiple times that says, 'I'm not legally married to two people but I am legally married to one and culturally married to another', I think it's impossible without making it even more confusing.'

Here's the real background information about Omar's 'confusing' marital history, in her own words. In 2016, Omar told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that she had married Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi (Husband 1) in their Muslim 'faith tradition' in 2002, and that after having two children, they divorced in their 'faith tradition' in 2008. No marriage certificate was issued, and there is no documentary evidence for the divorce.

In 2009, Omar married a Somali immigrant to Britain named Ahmed Nur Said Elmi (Husband 2) in a wedding in an unglamorous suburban state registry. The officiator was a Christian minister named Wilecia Harris, now a pastor at the Great and Mighty Works Ministries in Richfield, Minn.

It's possible that Wilecia Harris might have performed only a civil ceremony, which would suffice under Minnesota law. It's possible that Omar and Elmi didn't know the officiant was a Christian minister. Still, given that Omar was and is a proponent of her 'faith tradition', it's strange that she seems not to have consecrated her second marriage according to Islamic law or Somali tradition. The full certificate also shows that, despite Omar's 'faith tradition', the couple seem to have been cohabiting before their marriage

Omar refuses to answer questions as to when and how she happened to meet a British subject, or why she married him so soon after separating from the father of her children. Then again, she didn't separate that much from Husband 1. Documents released on Monday seem to show that she and Husband 1 were living together in Minneapolis at the time of her marriage to Husband 2. And when Omar and Husband 2 went to college in Fargo at North Dakota State University, Husband 1 came too. That must have made for some awkward silences at the breakfast table.

According to Omar, Husband 2 went back to London in 2011 after a 'faith-based' divorce. But according to Alpha News, screenshots from Husband 2's social media show him living in Minneapolis as late as August 2012. In the same year, she had a third child with Husband 1 and turned Husband 1 into Husband 3 with, she has claimed, another 'faith tradition' marriage. Regardless of the 'faith tradition' divorce from Husband 2, she was still legally married to him in civil law. Unwittingly or not, she was, as Ben Goldfarb admitted in 2016, now married to two people at the same time.

Omar has sworn that she didn't legally divorce Husband 2 until 2017 because she couldn't get in touch with him. Apart from being an admission that she knew she was still legally married to him when she made her second 'faith tradition' marriage with Husband 1 and 3 in 2012, this is implausible. Now-deleted postings appear to show that Omar went to London in 2014, and that she and Elmi (Husband 2) were in touch on social media. And this week, new evidence discovered by investigative journalist David Steinberg appears to show that Husband 2 was in Nairobi from December 2012 — and that he was in contact with Omar's sister.

The nature of Omar's relationship to Husband 2 is clouded by as-yet unsubstantiated allegations of double marriage and immigration fraud, which Omar has consistently denied. In 2016, an anonymous writer posted photos on a Somali site alleging that Husband 2 is Omar's brother. The post and a cached copy have both been deleted, and Spectator USA cannot verify them independently, but Scott Johnson of Powerline took copies.

The posting includes photographs that appear to disprove Omar's claim that she couldn't divorce Husband 2 because she didn't know where he was. The posting also claims that Husband 2 refers on social media to Omar children by Husband 1 & 3 as his 'nieces and nephews', that his and Omar's father is called Nur Said Omar, and that her marriage to Husband 2 was false and bigamous:

'A look at her social media accounts proves that at no point were her and Ahmed Hirsi [Husband 1 and 3] living apart,' the anonymous poster to Somali Spot wrote, 'nor was she ever in any other relationship. They have always been a couple, even when she was legally married to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi [Husband 2].' On Sunday, the Washington Examiner published what it described as 'dozens of documents' proving, the Examiner claims, that Omar was living with Husband 1 (Hirsi) while married to Husband 2 (Elmi).

Records already unearthed by David Steinberg appear to confirm that one 'Ahmed N. Elmi' studied at Arlington Senior High School in St Paul, MN. This Ahmed N. Elmi has the same birth date as the 'Ahmed N. Elmi' listed on Ilhan Omar's marriage certificate of 2008 and divorce papers of 2017. Several of his classmates confirmed to Steinberg that the father of Ahmed N. Elmi the high schooler was called Nur Said Elmi Mohamed — the same name as a name used by Ilhan Omar's father.

Questioned by Alpha News, Husband 2 in London didn't deny that he had attended high school in St Paul, MN. Meanwhile, his online profile included his degree from North Dakota State University. So there can be no doubt that Ahmed Elmi the high schooler is the same Ahmed Elmi who married Ilhan Omar — and who now claims not to know her at all.

It's impossible to read this mounting pile of credible evidence without wondering if Ilhan Omar was, perhaps unknowingly, implicated in education and immigration fraud, and whether, perhaps unknowingly, she was married to two men at the same time. Cockburn also fails to understand why Minneapolis's leading paper, the Star-Tribune (the 'Strib'), was so slow to investigate this mountain of evidence. Which brings us back to Ben Goldfarb's email of August 2016. Goldfarb advised Omar's team how to dissuade a local reporter from digging into Omar's story:

'Someone should reach out to talk off the record [with Olson] and shut it down with him as we do with the Strib.'

Omar's campaign finance irregularities — and perhaps also advance information about further releases of damaging evidence — seem to have woken the Strib from its slumbers. Earlier this month, the editorial board noted that filing false tax returns is against the law. It also described the entire issue as 'worthy of greater scrutiny'. It certainly is, and one of the questions worthy of scrutiny is why the Strib took so long to address a scandal on its own doorstep, and why it allowed itself to be 'shut down' in the first place. As Omar has said, the allegations are a 'shit show'.
