Explode-o-Nut is a member of the Bombard-Mint family.
Explode-o-Nut costs 50 Sun.
Explode-o-Nut can absorb 3,000 damage.
When Explode-o-Nut is defeated, it will explode dealing 1,800 damage to all zombies in a 3x3 area around it. (+100 damage on levels 2, 3, 5 and 7. +200 on level 9.)

Commentary:
This plant is just so good, there really is not much to dislike about it.
At 50 Sun, this is cheaper than any nut.
The fastest recharge time of any plant at level one is five (5) seconds. Explode-o-Nut is in that category.
When Explode-o-Nut explodes, the effect is the same as Cherry Bomb, which costs 3x as much.
Even though this is a single effect plant, it is cheap enough and recharges quick enough that this plant could be your only real plant and the level would still be completed.

Bottom Line:
This plant would be a viable if it cost 200 Sun. At 50 Sun, there is simply no reason not to obtain this plant a gain a few levels while it is available.

Any serious strategy should defeat this Zomboss. We just did un-serious strategies this week to see if we could do it, playing with plants that rarely get played.

We do not get a preview of Penny's Pursuit before it is released. So what you see is what players get.

We also try to vary the strategies from week to week and showcasing different plants and strategies and ideas. Using the same strategy week after week would be boring to see.
