Black Diamond is a town located in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada.
It is approximately 55 kilometers southwest of Calgary and has a population of approximately 2,700 residents. The town was founded in the early 1900s around the discovery of coal in the region and was named after the nearby Black Diamond Coal Mine.
Today, the town has a vibrant community and is known for its outdoor recreation opportunities, historic downtown, and unique arts and culture scene.
Popular attractions include the Black Diamond Farmers' Market, the Oilfields Regional Arena, and the Sheep River Provincial Park.
