From Hater to Fanboy - My Journey to Becoming a Souls Game Fanatic

Games like Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bloodborne, and the Souls genre in general can be a divisive and controversial topic. Some people HATE them, some people would die in defense of them. Why is that? How can something that literally created an entire sub-genre be so loved and so hated at the same time??
