How to install a DCC PNP Decoder for your locomotive Part 1
Okay here I'm installing a brand new DCC decoder this is a little computer chip that controls the lights, sounds, and movement of the locomotive. This is a Tsunami 2 EMD 2 decoder this particular decoder allows me to use LEDs now before you couldn't do that with the last gen decoders they really weren't the great you could only use Incandescent bulbs which had a tendency to burn out very quickly. with LEDs they are longer lasting and bright now I do advise everyone to use 1kohm resistors 1/4 or 1/2 watt to ensure you don't pop or burn out the LEDs. I will show how you can do that in the next video what I'm doing here is preping the decoder for installment and soldering of the wires but I'm also waiting on the speakers I ordered for these 2 locomotives these didn't come with speakers or a decoder so I had to buy some speakers and current keep alive. again when all the other items I order get here you will all be the first to see how I do that. For now just prep work. I wire everything in one go.
