An Apple Store Opened In Berkeley Cali And In The First Month, 58 Iphones And 10 Laptops Were Stolen

In the first month of 2024, 58 iPhones and 10 laptops were stolen from the Apple Store in Berkeley, according to the Berkeley Police Department. The thefts have occurred in three separate incidents. The first incident in which items were stolen occurred on Jan. 17. At approximately 7 p.m., a single suspect entered the store and stole 49 iPhones. The suspect fled and was not located, police said. On Jan. 25, at around 5:55 p.m., a suspect entered the store and stole nine iPhones. A Berkeley PD officer located the suspect vehicle in Oakland shortly after the burglary. The suspect, 21-year-old Dwayne Butler of Oakland, was arrested and all the property was recovered.

In a separate incident the same day, two suspects entered the store at around 11:19 a.m. and stole 10 laptops. Both suspects fled on foot and were not located. In two additional incidents in, suspects attempted to enter the business but didn’t make it through the front door, police said. Out of the five incidents that occurred in January, only one suspect has been arrested.
