On November 10, 2023, Martin County Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary at the Elliott Museum in Stuart, FL. Employees reported hearing voices and noticed their offices were ransacked upon arrival for work. A 42-year-old man allegedly entered the museum after hours through an unlocked door, wandering and stealing a few items. Deputies quickly located the man, who appeared unconcerned about the situation unfolding around him.
