Pentagon to give Ukraine $300 million in weapons

On Tuesday, the White House announced that the Pentagon would expedite the delivery of approximately $300 million worth of weapons to Ukraine.

This decision was made possible by identifying some cost savings in existing contracts.

However, despite this effort, the military remains significantly depleted, requiring at least $10 billion to replenish the weapons it has deployed to assist Kyiv in its ongoing struggle against Russia.

This allocation marks the Pentagon’s first publicly declared security package for Ukraine since December, when it acknowledged the depletion of replenishment funds.

Recent disclosures reveal that not only are replacement funds unavailable, but the military is also operating with a deficit of $10 billion, NPR reported.
