The Taliban, the ruling power in the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, has made a bizarre statement. The Taliban raised questions over India's newly notified Citizenship Amendment Act. In its first reaction to CAA, the Taliban said such a law should be for all “irrespective of religion.” The statement has stunned many because an Islamic nation wants India to give citizenship to Muslims under a law made to help those persecuted. India's Home Minister, Amit Shah, defended the exclusion of Muslims, stating that the community does not suffer religious persecution in Bangladesh, Pakistan, or Afghanistan.
