HEROISM AWARD!
Yesterday, Officers Marcolini, Officer Manzanedo, and Officer Silva from were acknowledged by the Clark County Fire Department for their quick actions to save a woman from a fire. They received a heroism award!
Back in December, these officers were finishing their shift when they saw thick, black smoke nearby. They immediately went to the area near Reno and Tamarus and saw the flames shooting from a second-floor apartment.
As the body camera video shows, moments later, they saw an older woman just feet from the flames. She was trapped on the second floor with no way down.
Officers grabbed a dumpster and pushed it over to the woman. One of the officers climbed onto the dumpster as small explosions and breaking glass could be heard from the intense heat. The officers were able to help the woman down to safety.
She received medical attention and the officers were unharmed.
We are beyond proud of these officers for their quick thinking and even faster action to work as a team and save this woman.
