The Mickey Mouse Theater of the Air was a 1938 musical-variety radio series for children, sponsored by Pepsodent and heard on NBC on Sunday afternoons, featuring Mickey Mouse and other characters from Walt Disney's cartoons and comic strips. The program was created to promote the February 1938 release of Disney's first animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

While Walt hadn't yet produced Cinderella, he had made a Laugh-O-Gram short in 1923 and had been toying with adapting the story into a Silly Symphony all through the 1930's. Walt wouldn't actually make Cinderella until 1950 and it was that film that saved his studio and put things on track again.
