Mountain lion kills 21-year-old hunter, injures teen brother in California attack

In a remote region of Northern California’s foothills, a tragic incident occurred on Saturday where a mountain lion fatally attacked a 21-year-old man and injured his 18-year-old brother, as confirmed by authorities.

The brothers were engaged in shed antler hunting near Georgetown in El Dorado County when the mountain lion launched its assault, as reported by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

Following the attack, the younger brother promptly contacted the sheriff’s office around 1:15 p.m. to report the incident and mentioned being separated from his brother.

Deputies arrived at the scene approximately at 1:30 p.m. and found the 18-year-old sibling suffering from traumatic facial injuries, immediately providing medical assistance.

Simultaneously, other deputies discovered the missing brother lying on the ground with the mountain lion looming over him, according to official statements, the New York Post reported.
