NBC News' Savannah Guthrie Said It Was 'An Unpleasant Few Days' Not Working With Ronna McDaniel

It's a wonder that TODAY's Savannah Guthrie waited to tell Stephen Colbert that it was "an unpleasant few days at our network" when former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel was hired as an NBC News contributor. All of the other NBC News and MSNBC hosts chewed out their bosses for hiring her right on their own programs, on the air. Every talking head from Rachel Maddow to Chuck Todd had an on-air meltdown. But it wasn't partisan. Joy Reid said she'd be happy to host Republicans like Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney. Todd made it clear that it wasn't political … it was about maintaining NBC News' credibility as "honest journalists." McDaniel was sent packing after four days, without making an appearance. (I hope she still gets paid her contract.) Guthrie told Colbert what a difficult time it was for everyone there at the network. -- 'Today' host Savannah Guthrie said Tuesday it was 'an unpleasant few days' when NBC News briefly hired former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel.

Their real beef was that McDaniel was an "election denier" and was working to raise money for Donald Trump, who incited an insurrection at our Capitol that nearly ended democracy. As I've said before, I think Joe Biden won the 2020 election — he had the Democrats and a four-year push by the media to convince everyone that Trump was an illegitimate president in the first place since he colluded with Russia to steal the election from Hillary Clinton. Were there problems with the election that demanded questioning? Of course. So it was really "unpleasant" to be in the building. We're sure glad management gave into their tantrums and fired McDaniel so everyone feels good again.

Whew glad she made it through okay and is now safe. I believe this experience qualifies Savannah as a wartime correspondent embedded with the troops. It would be harrowing for a pretend journalist comfortably ensconced in a leftist propaganda outlet like Comcast to encounter a coworker whose ideology did not slavishly conform to the Democrat narrative. And she had to keep a smile on her face for the TODAY audience. That must have been difficult. Does the media have a victimhood fetish or are they playing to a victimhood fetish demographic? After every single on-air personality threw a hissy fit, management finally realized their "mistake." No election deniers on the air … except Stacey Abrams, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden …
