Jealous for the Glory of God, Part II

God is decidedly jealous for his glory. His glory will another (an impostor god or men) not take nor partake in. It will never happen!
Isaiah 42:8
I am the LORD : that is my name : and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

So, everything starting with creation is out to make him visible to all creation and magnify His glory especially among men who seem to be the only part of creation that debates God as the source of creation.
Psalm 8:1
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork.

Isaiah 6:3
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

When we learn of God in the ways he has made himself visible, we accord him the glory due to his name, his person, worshiping him in the beauty of holiness. This is the end objective of the knowledge of God, you worship him.

Psalm 29:1-2 (Psalm 96:1-13)
Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Revelation 4:11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

In his work of creation, he jealously curated all things to achieve this end.
2 Corinthians 4:15
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 10:17
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

When nations would descend into lawlessness, it starts with a corrupt view of God. Jeremiah 2:4-13

Meanwhile, the beginning of a solid civilization and it's preservation lies in their understanding of God.

Jeremiah 9:23-24
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Romans 1:18-32 (19-21, 23)

There refusal to acknowledge God and confer the honour of being God on Him extricated them from God. This separation led to human depravity on every shade of evil starting with idolatry - they began to depict God in the image of man and animals of every kind, creating God of their own liking.

Romans 1:23, 25
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen

Then, they descended further into more depravity. Their descent into uncleanness because lusts in their hearts found manifestations in vile affections, in which they began to dishonour their bodies. Men began to see the use of a man instead of a woman. Women saw the use of a woman instead of a man, both unseemly combinations turning God's order on its head.

Romans 1:24,26-27
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

That is not all. Their refusal to glorify God resulted in all shades of depravity, their minds descending into a reprobate state where doing things which were hitherto inconvenient became the norm.

Romans 1:28
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

When the glory of God is not the central theme and objective, self is magnified, carnality is enthroned, lust in diverse manifestations is given expression.

Psalm 4:2-5
O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed , and be still. Selah. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
