Sneaky parrot steals silicone steamer
Einstein the parrot loves to play and perch on his kitchen drawer. It is a place in the kitchen were his owners have made parrot safe he'll play there for hours and chew up his toys. This is a natural thing all parrots enjoy. This particular day, his owner had left a silicone vegetable steamer in the dish rack. It wasn't long before Einstein investigated it and decided what a nice chew it would be! He throws it down into the drawer and promptly hides inside the cabinet. He pulls the treasured steamer in with him and begins to chew! After about 45 minutes Einsteins owner comes into the kitchen to discover what Einstein had done! Einstein's not in trouble at all! His owner buys these just for him at a local department store and on eBay! You can see remnants of a previous steamer he chewed and these will keep him entertained and busy for hours. Parrots need this kind of activity and it's the job of the owner to do whatever it takes to find enrichment activities like this.
