Final Fantasy Developer Square Enix Announces $140 Million LOSS!

Square Enix announced a massive financial hit of over $140 Million for the financial year ending in March 2024. Several projects that are in development have been scrapped and the company is looking to "streamline" their output.Show more

Which games/productions have been cut is unknown, but for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake/Rebirth project, this is actually a good sign that after years of failures, Square Enix is looking to right the ship and double down on critical and fan favorites.

If this is the first of many major studios coming to these conclusions, it's a sign the industry is learning and changing for the better.
