Man has been charged after chasing his stolen truck as prosecutors DOWNGRADE the suspect's charge. Aaron Babcock chased his stolen truck while law enforcement watched due to current laws. He has been charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and is scheduled to appear in court on May 13 in Eatonville, Washington. Pierce County deputies said Aaron Babcock ran two red lights during the pursuit. The suspect Kiliona Hunkin, 28, was initially charged with stealing a vehicle, failure to obey, reckless driving, duty in case of damage to the attended vehicle or property, and duty on striking an unattended vehicle.

The prosecutor's office later amended the charges to second-degree vehicle theft. Babcock confronted the suspect but he didn’t want to shoot him “He was afraid of it (gun), but it didn’t stop him,” he said. Police tried to stop Hunkin but he sped off. Despite officers ending the chase, Babcock kept chasing him. He caught up near to Hunkin after the truck broke down, holding Hunkin at gunpoint until police arrived.
