California Forever, (NATO SMART CITY Detention Prison)
Vice Mayor Greg Ritchie and owner of Citizens Financial Home Loans filed two fictitious business names or "Doing Business As" titles as "California Forever Home Loans" and "California Forever Homes," in January, according to The Mercury News.
Ritchie has faced some backlash over his support of the project on social media. Members of the California ForNever Facebook group advised in a post that Vacaville residents should reach out to their City Council representatives to voice concerns over Ritchie's affiliation with the project.
California Forever is an American real estate development corporation founded by Jan Sramek. Through its subsidiary Flannery Associates, California Forever anonymously purchased over 50,000 acres of farmland in southeastern Solano County, near the San Francisco Bay Area, California. In August 2023, the company announced plans to build a new walkable city of up to 400,000 people on that land. The project's investors are primarily Silicon Valley billionaires.
