Mosab Hassan Yousef and Jordan Peterson are WRONG | Israel-Palestine Conflict

This is a review of Mosab Hassan Yousef and Jordan Peterson’s discussion on YouTube titled “The Brutal Reality of the Middle East.”

I am impartial on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

I am disappointed in Mosab Hassan Yousef’s blatant Islamophobia and subsequent condemnation of the Islamic religion and all individuals devout within it.

I am disappointed in Jordan Peterson’s wanton disregard to dispute or address precisely anything despite having given extensive lectures elaborating the same dysfunctions observable within this interview.
Additionally, I am disappointed in Jordan Peterson’s emotionally and ideologically driven partiality to condemn all Palestinians and pro-Palestine individuals as “Pro-Hamas.”
He has conflated showing support for a suppressed national identity with mass abetting of a terrorist organization; I find this generalization both untrue and despicable.

I have not read Mosab Hassan Yousef’s “Son of Hamas” or watched “The Green Prince”; I am judging the man by his own words solely from the statements of this interview.

Thoughts on Dr. Jordan B Peterson:

Formerly, I admired Dr. Jordan Peterson greatly.

Then, I browsed his Twitter/X activity and discovered countless blatant emotionally and ideologically driven tantrums of his alter ego.

My long-held perception of this stoic and conscientious, evidence-driven and impartial father-figure has been irreparably shattered.

I feel hollow; he was someone whose words I thought I could trust blindly.

I suppose, as individuals, we can never fully align with our idols.

POV: Jordan “give ‘em hell” Peterson when Israel blows off the limbs of children in an airstrike: (This is the part where you imagine him grinning.)

“The irony is that he represents the same evil that he vehemently describes in his lectures.” - Twitter/X User, I concur.

For Mosab Hassan Yousef:

Life has thrown you endless challenges and suffering.

Do not weaponise human compassion fuelled by resentment to gain revenge onto those who have done you no harm.

Do not generalize your negative experiences from extremists in an extreme environment onto an entire religion; 1/4th of the human population.

I acknowledge the intrinsic desire to inflict harm now that you wield the power to do so; but it’s not worth it.

I spent three grueling years of my childhood in quasi-prison for “leaving” Iran, I was exposed to that which I have no intention of making public until I am dead. I seek no revenge, I seek reform and I do not generalize.

But know that there are good and bad people everywhere; think of a normal distribution.

For some to be good, some must be bad.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Thank you for all of the good you have done in opposition of Hamas, the terrorist organization.

But do not inflict that “good” onto Palestinian civilians; mothers, fathers, and children.

My youthful, naive, and impartial strategy for an idealistic future:
Extirpate Hamas (We don’t negotiate with terrorists)
Expurgate settlers and armed guards from Palestinian sectors (Lift the psychological detention)
Halve the holy land. (“because they have the birthright to the land” - Yousef)
Educate both sides to love another (“when you see an Israeli child, you have to consider it your own” - Yousef)
Sign treaty ensuring peace (To dismantle opposition and terrorist uprisings)
