Russia Victory Day Parade LIVE: Russia Marks World War 2 Victory Day with Military Parade in Moscow
Russia stages its main annual Victory Day parade in Moscow's Red Square marking victory in World War II. Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak at the Victory Day parade on Red Square though there will be less military hardware on display than in parades before Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine. May 9 is celebrated as Victory Day in Russia and several other former Soviet republics. It commemorates the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II and the formal surrender of German forces in Berlin, ending the war in Europe in 1945.
