Post-Conditioning Pressing (Chest & Triceps)

First I began with Incline Dumbbell Press. I did a warmup set with the 55s and then got into my working sets with the 70s. A Key performance points is to emphasize the stretch at the bottom. More than size and overall strength, I want to be as strong as possible in the most compromised position to fortify against future injuries moving forward. It’s something I often neglected early on in my training history that I pay for now.

Next, for more volume,I use the Hoist ROC-IT machine press to get the outer, sternal pec about as close to failure as I’m generally willing to train expecting a lot of work the following day.

Last, for direct tricep work I did Close-Grip Overhead Cable Extensions with the EZ-Curl Attachment. The idea here is to bias the long triceps head keeping the humerus (upper arm) up by the ears. Then the next performance measure is to really milk the eccentric stroke to keep the tension not only in the muscle but down at the elbow. Like the dumbbells, this is to build resilience at the weak link for injury prevention and training longevity. When you do these right, a little goes a long way. You don’t need to “wishbone” your elbows with heavy weight.

That’s it. I had some daemons to expunge today so that was as much practical as it was therapeutic 😂
