Overhead auroras in SW Wisconsin 240512

I’ve seen countless extraordinary images of the recent Auroras reaching places they rarely if ever do, but this is a video that immerses you in the experience.

My bucket list included “seeing the Aurora Borealis from either Iceland or Norway” where this phenomenon occurs regularly - all the conditions geographically are ideal. I didn’t expect such a show at historically low latitudes and I never expected to see a recording of them like this. Here you can experience an immersion directly beneath what appears to be a vortex of curtains waving in the solar waves.

Thanks Todd (scannerguy1968) for staying out in the cold until 2AM to capture this for us.

This is my cheesehead buddy Scannerguy who captured the auroras overhead in SW Wisconsin
