Three men accused in the 2018 prison killing of notorious Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger have entered plea deals with prosecutors after nearly six years since the incident.

Fotios “Freddy” Geas, Paul J. DeCologero, and Sean McKinnon were implicated in the beating death of the 89-year-old gangster at a troubled West Virginia prison.

Geas and DeCologero allegedly assaulted Bulger, with McKinnon serving as a lookout. DeCologero reportedly revealed plans to kill Bulger upon his arrival, and prosecutors claim they used a belt with a lock attached to it for the fatal attack.

Though the specifics of the plea agreements weren’t disclosed, prosecutors have requested hearings for the men to change their pleas and be sentenced, the Associated Press reported.
