Both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have accepted invitations from CNN to debate on June 27, marking an unusually early confrontation that will shape the trajectory of the 2024 campaign’s final months.

Biden confirmed his acceptance in a post on X, urging Trump to follow suit, to which Trump later responded positively to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

Additionally, both candidates agreed to a second debate on September 10, hosted by ABC.

This development follows a back-and-forth exchange initiated by Biden’s campaign, which called for early debates and formally withdrew from the Commission on Presidential Debates’ scheduled fall debates.

Trump swiftly agreed to the earlier debate proposal, emphasizing his willingness to debate under any circumstances, CNN has reported.
