Sir Dr Ashley Bloomfield was the Director-General of Health in New Zealand during the Covid-19 response. He recommended lockdowns as a way to stop transmission of a respiratory virus that floats on air currents for many hours, bankrupting many small businesses in the process.

He was then placed as the sole person able to approve vaccine exemptions when the injectable products were mandated upon the population. He refused almost every exemption, including those who had a life threatening reaction to their first dose, informing them to receive the product at a medical facility with emergency equipment available. His actions gave people two choices: financial devastation or an injection which is linked to health harms of many thousands and deaths of many hundreds of New Zealanders.

To see some of those deaths, refer to this de-identified spreadsheet from July 2023, taken from reports to The Health Forum New Zealand at www.thehealthforumnz.co.nz

Sir Dr Ashley is now co-chair alongside Saudi Arabian Dr Abdullah Assiri, of the Working Group on Amendments to the International Health Regulations (WGIHR). https://www.who.int/news/item/27-04-2024-governments-near-agreement-on-package-of-amendments-to-the-international-health-regulations-(2005)

Sir Ashley claims that those opposing the World Health Organization plans are engaged in a "coordinated and sophisticated campaign” of misinformation and disinformation attempting to undermine the process. He claims that national sovereignty will not be ceded by the legislation.

Meanwhile, Professor Ramesh Thakur, previous United Nations Assistant Secretary-General, has responded to Sir Dr Bloomfield in an article yet to be published. He outlined this response to lawyer Katie Ashby-Koppens at the Aligned Council of Australia's international press conference in Melbourne on 11 May 2024.
