How to Connect with God in the Waiting

Have you ever been in a waiting period—waiting on God to move, His promises to manifest, or His direction in a circumstance? How you connect with God in the waiting is critical.

It’s important to wrap your mind around the purpose of the waiting and know it is temporary.

Waiting is a time of testing, so you are prepared to receive what’s on the other side.

Waiting is an opportunity to worship even when you can’t see the outcome.
Waiting is a time to cry out to the Lord, asking for His strength to persevere.

THE DAYS THAT FOLLOWED THE EXODUS REVEAL...

How to connect with God in the waiting.

As the Israelites journeyed from Egypt to Mount Sinia, they experienced a waiting period. During this period, they were tested, given opportunities to worship, and cried out to God.

“Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter... And the people complained against Moses, saying, ‘What shall we drink?’ So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.”—Exodus 15:24-25
The Lord told them to heed His voice, follow Him, and keep His statutes. He gave them a choice in the midst of their circumstances. They could choose to connect with God and receive something better or let their experience lead them into bitterness.

HOW DOES THIS HELP YOU CONNECT WITH GOD?

We are like the Israelites today. We are given a choice to connect with God in the waiting and allow Him to purify our hearts or we resist and become bitter. To grow in our connection with God, we must heed His voice!
The Holy Spirit is our guarantee that something better is coming. He will guide you and reveal how to connect with God in your waiting period.
