Russia's President Putin has said there are no plans tocapture the country's second city Kharkiv, afterRussian troops crossed the border into north eastern Ukraine.
The Russian leader said his forces were advancing inorder to protect the Russian border region.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has admittedthat there were issues with military staffing andmorale, saying a number of existing brigades were empty.
He said the country's air fleet was lacking andrenewed calls for allies to send more air defence and fighter jets.
