Puppy doesn't like Maple Leafs hat being worn in her house

River is a playful puppy who likes to chew and chase things, as most puppies do. But she took a serious interest in Brent's hat and seemed desperate to remove it from his head. Whether it was because she wanted the pom pom or because she disagreed with his support of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team is up for debate. It seems that she just couldn't stand having a Maple Leafs supporter in her house. Brent had just taken his friends to see the Leafs play in Toronto the night before this and he was very proud of his brand new hat that he got at the game. Brent is a dog lover who took it all in stride and wasn’t insulted by River’s different taste in hockey teams.Show more

River is enjoying a new home after having a near brush with death two days before Christmas. She belonged to a loving couple and their children who treated her like a true family member, but she developed very complicated health problems that would make treatment difficult to manage and extremely costly. Too beautiful a soul to be euthanized, a last minute decision was made for the veterinary assistant and her mother, also a veterinarian, to take River and give her the care that she deserved. She has since been diagnosed with a very rare heart condition as well as having some other challenges. Her new family will nurse her along until she is able to undergo heart surgery to correct the most serious problem. River is enjoying a good life with lots of attention, lots of love, and frequent walks in the forest nearby with her new dog friend, an older great Dane.

Meanwhile, Brent will do whatever he can to make sure River learns to appreciate the Toronto Maple Leafs.
