According to Deadspin, the New York Jets have fired their general manager.
The Jets Chairman and CEO Christopher Johnson announced the decision via a statement posted on Twitter.
Johnson mentioned that the team's new head coach, Adam Gase, will serve as the acting GM while they look to replace Mike Maccagnan.
The news was proceeded by rumors about a power struggle between Gase and Maccagnan, who served as the Jet's GM for four years.
