Guinevere is a calf who was just born a few days ago. She lives on a beautiful farm in Millbrook, Ontario, with a very happy and easy life. She follows her mother around and watches as mom grazes happily on lush green grass. The herd has acres of meadow and forest, along with ponds full of fresh water.

Guinevere is too young to digest grass and she nurses several times a day to get milk from her mother, but she will watch and imitate her mom, even chewing at the grass to see what the appeal is. After 3-4 months, she will start to get some of her nutrition from grass too. She will rely on her mother for milk for up to nine months.

Guinevere has never seen a camera on a tripod before. It is a strange object in her meadow and she is a curious little baby. She has held back, waiting to see if her mom, Bella, is alarmed. Bella has been looking at the camera with mild interest, but she is too busy chewing her cud to go and check things out.

After she decides that the camera isn't moving, she goes up close for a better look and a sniff. We can see Guinevere's face so close to the camera that we even get a glimpse of the frothy milk on her chin. She had been having a big drink a few moments earlier.

Guinevere's nose bounces off the camera and it tips over.

Calves this age are among the cutest creatures on the planet. Their huge eyes and wide ears make their faces completely endearing!

Ethical farms like this one are committed to raising cows the best way possible. Supporting farmers who do things right might cost a little more, but it's worth it to make sure these gentle and beautiful creatures are treated as they deserve to be.
