Charlie Carver Opens Up About Shame During Acceptance Speech

“Teen Wolf” actor Charlie Carver received the 2020 GLSEN Gamechanger Award in a virtual ceremony. According to the HuffPost, Carver opened up about fearing his sexuality during his acceptance speech. Despite receiving support from his family Carver said he worried his sexuality would bring “something swift and terrible.” He said: “I recognize now that that thing I was so afraid of, the thing I was sort of running from and trying to manage, was my own shame.” Carver publicly acknowledged his sexuality in 2016, saying by not doing so he was being a part of the problem.
