Centipedes, or hiss, is the Vietnamese name for a group of arthropod species (Chilopoda) in the Multi-legged sub-category (Myriapoda). The centipedes are slender, elongated stalk animals, each with a pair of legs. The number of legs of each centipede varies from less than 20 to over 300 feet. The number of pairs of centipede is always odd, for example, it can have 15 or 17 pairs of legs (30 or 34 feet) but never 16 pairs of legs (32 legs). [1] [2] A noticeable feature of centipedes is that the pair of pliers in front of the mouth can secrete venom into enemies, formed from a pair of mouth appendages. Most centipedes are predators.
