Everyone knows the breed of cats "Canadian Sphinx" and it can not fail to arouse interest, since these cats have a distinctive feature from other breeds of the cat family - this is the lack of hair.
The first representative of the canadian Sphinx was born in 1966 in Ontario (Canada) among kittens of an ordinary domestic cat. It was called prune back. After reaching a certain age, prun began to cross With his mother, in the hope of getting hairless offspring, and in the litter appeared both naked and woolly kittens. Prun was brought together with his descendants for a long time, in order to preserve as many genes as possible, and the result was two slightly different breeds from each other in appearance. However, the breeding of sphinxes failed for obvious reasons: first, the breed remained extremely small, second, the genetics of sphinxes was poorly studied at that time, and third, kittens were more demanding in care and often died.

It seemed that this was the end of the breed's history, but in 1975, in the city of Wadena (USA, Minnesota), a bald kitten was born again, which was named Epidermis! And a year later, a bald cat was also born there. They ended up in the same kennel, and since then, the Epidermis has become the ancestor of the most elite lines of the breed to this day.

Canadian sphinxes were brought to us from North America. The first pair of sphinxes was in the Moscow nursery "Ruaztec" Tanya Smirnova. The couple's names were Pelmen and Nifertiti, and they gave birth to the first offspring of canadian sphinxes in Russia.

Since then, the breed has been gaining popularity, gradually capturing many hearts with its folds, large ears, expressive eyes, the nature of the child and, most importantly, the lack of wool, which allows you to get a pet of this breed for Allergy sufferers, families with children and people who just don't want to mess with wool....
