“It’s A Twistaa”, was the cry in the movie, "The Wizard of Oz". And, indeed it is.
The music opens with a peaceful scene on a corn field in Kansas. Soon the peace is
interrupted by the sound of an approaching storm which grows nearer and louder with
each passing moment. Then the funnel cloud. They say that a passing tornado sounds
like a passing freight train? Well the tornado passes, and there is a deathly calm.
Soon one looks around and sees the destruction. All the cleanup must be done.
But in time with the help of God most all wounds are healed, and the peaceful scene r
returns to the corn field once more.
I was on a vacation and passed through Kansas some years ago. I noted with
amusement that the hotel I stayed at had a card on the TV warning the "tourists"
like me that we were in tornado country. It gave a map to the hotel's storm shelter.
I also saw endless corn and wheat fields there and made photos with nothing in sight
but corn, sky, and a lone hawk circling overhead looking for lunch.
