Variant News Live: Part 2 In Series - PS5/Xbox Scalpers, Python GPU Tracker & News Tweets

The market for the next generation of GPUs has created issues for PC builders when it comes time to pick parts for builds. Supply has been limited for the AMD RX 6800 series and the Nvidia RTX 3000 series. To make matters worse scalpers are buying up supply and selling for double or triple the retail price on sites such as ebay. In addition even retail outlets like amazon that have limited supplies are marking up cards to 50% or 100% percent. In the future the GPU Tracker will be expanded to offer support for tracking the next generation of consoles (Xbox Series X and PS5) and also CPUs. We are looking for feedback from the community on other products to track.

So with the issues that have arisen, Variant News has created a python based GPU tracker for finding stock at the major outlets: newegg.com, bestbuy.com, amazon.com and directly from nvidia.com

Look for a publicly accessible github repo for the GPU tracker code in an upcoming stream. In addition Variant News is working on another python based framework that will allow users to post Tweets to Twitter based on media article urls. The media links will be processed and parsed by Machine Learning libraries such as spaCy in order to formulate the data points needed to post Tweets (Title, Hashtags, Media Link, Description). The end goal is to have users interact with the framework through a web form where Tweets can be easily posted.
