FARMERS DEFENCE FORCE ON NEW NITROGEN POLICY: “STAND UP NOW OR REMAIN SILENT FOREVER”

Beschrijving:
Een kritisch rapport pleit voor de herziening van het Nederlandse natuurbeleid en laat zien
dat een groot gedeelte van het land bufferzone wordt als er een 10 km bufferzone om alle
Natura 2000 gebieden komt.
De onderzoekers concluderen dat de landbouw 35% verantwoordelijk is voor de stikstofdepositie
in de Natura 2000 gebieden, in tegenstelling tot de 41% dat het RIVM aan de landbouw toeschrijft.
Het rapport concludeert dat zelfs als alle landbouw zou verdwijnen, de kritische depositie-waarden van ongeveer 70% van de natuurgebieden nog steeds zou worden overschreden.
De onderzoekers zijn ook kritisch op hun eigen berekeningen en stellen voor om waarden meer op lokaal i.p.v. regionaal en landelijk te berekenen en te evalueren. Ze bevelen ook aan om meer naar het kostenplaatje te kijken die er hangt aan de vermindering van 100 mol stikstofdepositie en wat voor een effect dat heeft op de herstel van de natuur.
Het kabinet wilt de stikstofaanpak wettelijk vastleggen en heeft een nieuw wetsvoorstel aangekondigd op 3 november, 2020 voor de opkoop van veehouderijen om de stikstofdepositie in Natura 2000 gebieden te verminderen.
De Farmers Defence Force (FDF), die de belangen van de Nederlandse boerengemeenschap behartigd, gaat tegen dit nieuwe wetsvoorstel actievoeren op 17 November, 2020.

of the country will become a buffer zone if a 10 km buffer zone is created around all
Natura 2000 areas.
The researchers conclude that agriculture is 35% responsible for the nitrogen deposition in the Natura 2000 areas, in contrast to the 41% that the RIVM (Dutch CDC) attributes to agriculture.
The report concludes that if even all agriculture were to disappear, the critical deposition
values of about 70% of the nature areas would still be exceeded.
The researchers are also critical of their own calculations and propose to calculate and evaluate values more locally rather than regionally and nationally. They also recommend to look more
at the costs of reducing 100 mol nitrogen deposition and what effect this will have on the restoration of nature.
The government wants to legislate the nitrogen approach and announced a new bill on November 3, 2020, for the purchase of livestock farms to reduce the nitrogen deposition
in Natura 2000 areas.
The Farmers Defence Force (FDF), which represents the interests of the Dutch farming community, will protest against this new bill on 17 November, 2020.
