Lies in the Church: Who is the Holy Spirit? | Part 3 of Lies in the Church Series

Who is the Holy Spirit – that’s the question we must answer before we embark on our journey to the Truth of God’s Word and understanding it!

Back when I was a name-only Christian, I must say, I never heard of the Holy Spirit. I heard the words, but I didn’t know what they meant. And the only time I ever heard those words were at the end of the Lord’s Prayer – “In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

Once I hit rock bottom in my life, having been diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder and social phobia stemming from the abusive environment I grew up in, I decided to seek God. See if He really exists and how it all works. In the very beginning of my inner healing journey though, I didn’t want to hear sermons from pastors and I didn’t want to know what’s in the Bible – because I had been lied to, my whole life about God. And the lies I was told are exactly the lies we’ll be addressing in this video series, because I’m not the only one who believed them!

However, I ended up giving pastor Jimmy Evans a “try,” and the more I listened to his sermons, the more I wanted to know about God. I finally realized there was no other way to know Him other than through His Word. But pastor Jimmy said that we cannot understand the Bible without the help of the Holy Spirit – and I have found this to be true in my experience.

In this video, we’re answering the question, “Who is the Holy Spirit?” in specific, so that we are well-prepared to tackle these lies running rampant in the world today. The lies we’re starting to address in the next video aren’t lies people who know nothing about Jesus or who aren’t Christians believe. No, they are, surprisingly, people who have themselves been lied to, in church, about God, just as I was. But first, let’s find out who the Holy Spirit is!
