Roseatte Spoonbills pinch Alligator tails for food in Rare video

During April’s feeding frenzy, Roseate Spoonbills were pinching 1-3 year old alligators tails. Pinching the tail would cause the young alligators to scurry through the mud, kicking up food for the spoonbills to follow behind them and sweep up an easy bite.

This footage is of an extremely rare behavior that is not know to be widely exhibited. I am not aware of any other videos that exist showing this behavior between these two species.

One of my favorite moments & captures from April 2018 when I bought my first camera. (My 3rd week of photography/videography in 2018)
