Marvin Kirkland Cox is an American politicianhe has served in the Virginia House of Delegates since 1990, representing the 66th District. He also served as the 55th Speaker of the House of Delegates.

COX was one of only 13 out of 139 legislators who failed to pass a single bill this session. Also has been criticized for a laundry list of issues he opposed like:

American rescue plan COVID-19 relief bill

Marijuana Legalization

Abolition of the Death Penalty

Pay raises for Teachers and Police

the landmark Virginia Voting Rights Act

Blocked over 470,000 Virginians of affordable health care for years

One issue Kirk vowed to be tough on is to crack down on voting in “tough” parts of Virginia. The NAACP countered “alarmed” by cox’s statements on voters rights. “Black and Brown voters cant make their voices heard in our elections” Ashleigh Crocker, Communications Director at Progress Virginia.

Another bill Cox supported was to expand Medicaid programs under the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care). Which even republican led Majority Leader Tommy Norment commented on at the time “abandons Virginia’s long-standing reputation for fiscal responsibility”.

Kirk Cox was recently endorsed by Tommy Norment. Minority Leader of the Senate of Virginia. He has served in the Virginia General Assembly since 1992.

Another career politician and Tommy being the editor of the year book that was discovered with the controversial images of Ralph Northam.

Norment “like Governors Allen and McDonnel, Kirk Cox”….Allen is discredited and McDonnell was convicted on corruption charges. Probably not the endorsement Cox was aiming for but any press is good press as long as they mention your name in Politics these days. The swamp runs deep here but the question is can Kirk Cox get things done?
