"Moving the goalposts" is a logical fallacy and a means of manipulating people into giving far more than they intended. If a person is never satisfied with their original request, and always demand a little bit more, then a little bit more, and you never seem to reach the final goal, they're moving the goalposts on you. Once someone has revealed themselves to be a post-mover, there's only one real solution....
