As the camera pans to the right you will be looking at The Gregory Diggings named after John H Gregory of Georgia who discovered the first gold lode in Colorado on May 6, 1859. The Bates Lode was the second discovery named after Captain William Bates of the US Army who paid Gregory $200 to find the second lode. Word got out and this place was swarming with prospectors. Approximately 40 miles from Denver makes a great stop when visiting. Filled with true gold mining history and now home to many casinos. Please share, subscribe and like then visit my other videos.
