“It is what it is”: Edmonton football fans mixed over Eskimos to Elks name change

Adam Soos was outside Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta before the start of a new CFL season, the first since 2019. Edmonton football fans had mixed emotions and an “it is what it is” outlook on the teams name change from the Eskimos to Elks this past year, with many liking the new logo, being grateful the team kept the “EE” theme and a touch of disappointment that a piece of history had been lost. Most importantly to the fans: football is back.
