"Today we are looking at what a selective antioxidant is and why you need it. To understand the importance of selective antioxidants we first need to understand oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is exceptionally easy to get and equally as hard to get rid of, this type of stress is implicated in the pathogenesis of many inflammatory related diseases like: diabetes, asthma, parkinson's, and heart disease - which we know is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. The root cause behind oxidative stress and inflammation is free radicals. Free radicals are molecules with an unpaired electron that scavenge and damage our cells while looking for an electron to pair with, often leading to cell death. Popular belief is that if we eat enough foods that are high in antioxidants we will have enough antioxidants to outweigh the negative oxidants. These common antioxidants that we get from our foods like kale and berries, neutralize the harmful free radicals by donating an electron. However, the antioxidants that we get from supplements or from our food, can have a high toxicity when consumed in high doses that put constraints on the already narrow window we have to reach the therapeutic dosage we need to significantly help against free radicals. This is because we would have to eat an exceptionally high amount of these foods in a pretty short amount of time almost continually to have a significant impact on our oxidative stress and inflammation levels. This is where molecular hydrogen comes in - molecular hydrogen also known as h2 is a powerful, effective, selective antioxidant meaning that it selectively neutralizes the harmful reactive oxygen species or ROS helping to eliminate oxidative stress - it does this by scavenging the harmful hydroxyl radical while preserving other important reactive oxygen and nitrogen species needed for normal signal regulation. Simply put, hydrogen gas is posited as the best antioxidant because it only neutralizes the cell damaging free radicals and leaves the other physiologically necessary free radicals alone. As a powerful selective antioxidant that targets the most harmful free radicals without requiring you to eat copious amounts of berries, hydrogen is the best possible antioxidant that you can get - as proven in these studies. As of the 7th of June 2021, there are 1,025 studies supporting the health benefits of molecular hydrogen when it comes to combating inflammatory and oxidative stress related diseases and helping to prevent cell death. But how do you get the therapeutic benefits of molecular hydrogen? Echo water - Echo antioxidant water is water that has gone through electrolysis this means that the water has a therapeutic electrical charge or oxidation reduction potential needed to facilitate good gut health which we know is linked to our immune system, ghrelin production, and other important physiological processes - but most importantly, Echo antioxidant water contains free-flowing hydrogen gas running through it. So, how much hydrogen gas are you getting from echo antioxidant water? To receive the full benefits of molecular hydrogen you need to be drinking water with around 0.5 parts per million of hydrogen gas. Our machines are well over that basic measurement. H2 Analytics recently awarded Synergy Science the international hydrogen standards association certification - finding that our products offered between 1.8 and 1.9 parts per million of hydrogen gas in distilled water, giving you all the antioxidant benefits you need without eating copious amounts of berries. For more information on Echo antioxidant water check out the links below and be sure to check out our studies page where you can find all the research we have on the health benefits molecular hydrogen has to offer."
