We all know that equipment must be tied down - properly is the key! It can be just has bad to have something tied down wrong - like I did. Watch the video to see.
Bryce explains what happened as he travelled back from Kentucky and what not to do when travelling with the RK25 on a trailer. It’s easy to hit a pot hole or have construction zones and have to switch uneven lanes. The tractor on the trailer sometimes would get into a swaying motion on the highway that was extremely dangerous and would cause the driver to lose control.
What happens is the tractor has outriggers on the backhoe that are raised. Bryce made the mistake of strapping the outriggers together in the up position, so they would not sag as the hydraulics lost pressure. This would create a problem when driving that would cause the riggers to rock side to side together with their weight, and swing the entire trailer into an uncontrollable mess.
I detached the outriggers from each other, lowered them, lowering the center of gravity and now it is much more stable.
Remember safety first!
