Can plants get cancer? Plants can develop tumors. But, this is very rare. As far as cancer that becomes malignant and spreads, no, plants cant get cancer. Plants have very rigid cell walls. They don’t have circulatory systems like animals and humans do, so they can’t spread cancer.

Cancer in the human body comes from normal cells becoming damaged and then adapting to a different type of metabolism where they ferment glucose as a backup system.

Many plants and herbs actually have phytonutrients that have the ability to potentially prevent, impede, delay, or even cure cancer. 60% of cancer patients in the US use some sort of agent or extract from different plants. In fact, quite a few drugs, even drugs that address cancer, are derived from plants.

Plants that are anti-cancer:
• Curcumin
• Green tea
• Resveratrol (extract from grapes)
• Sulforaphane (from broccoli or broccoli sprouts)
• Cruciferous vegetables
• Garlic
• Milk thistle
• Parsley
• Ginger
